The Arctic region is becoming increasingly prominent in popular environmental, political, resource, transportation and leisure narratives, as warming opens up the regions above the 66 degrees north to new forms of trade and agriculture.

Guy Yeomans will ask, Is there a new futures view and method to think differently about this region?

He's partnered by John Sweeney, of the University of Hawai'i, who will introduce the concept of postnormal futures, which has been developed at the Center for Postnormal Policy and Futures Studies. He will give an overview of the Three Tomorrows method (extended present, familiar futures, and unthought futures) being developed to work with the concept.

Following the presentations, there will be a hands-on facilitated session to help people explore the approach for themselves.
